2004 LODGING REVENUE BY MONTH

Lodging revenue was the largest contributor to gross business receipts in Pigeon Forge. Lodging revenue in 2004 increased three percent from 2003. January and February experienced the highest increases. This is attributed to the success of Winterfest, which becomes increasingly popular each year. The 17 percent decrease in revenue for August is attributed to the many schools in Pigeon Forge's top visiting markets that reopened during the second week of August. In 2004, May and June saw increases in visitation over 2003. However, these months experienced a decrease in revenue from 2003. This is explained by the declines in occupancy level and average daily rates at several Pigeon Forge lodging facilities during these months.
